Write professional invoices with all mandatory details
Not only for your accounting, but also for how you present yourself to your customers, it is crucial that your invoices contain all legally required information. According to Section 14 of the German Value Added Tax Act (UStG), the following mandatory details are required:
- Full company name and address
- Tax number or VAT identification number (VAT ID)
- Full customer name and address
- Invoice date
- Sequential invoice number
- Date of delivery / service
- Quantity and type of delivery or the scope and type of service
- Remuneration for the delivery / service, net
- VAT rate applied to the net amount
- VAT amount applied to the net amount
This information is also mandatory when sending by email or for electronic invoices in order to enable the customer to deduct input tax.

No, cancelling the account only ends the paid plan. The account remains on the free FREE plan. You will continue to have access to data and documents as long as the FREE account is actively used. Depending on the type of your business, special requirements apply:
Small business invoice
Under the small business regulation in accordance with § 19 UStG, VAT is not charged on invoices. For this, a note such as “In accordance with § 19 UStG, no VAT is charged” must appear on the invoice.
Small-value invoice
For amounts up to 250 euros gross, simplified requirements apply. The following must be included:
- Name and address of the service provider
- Date of issue
- Quantity and type of delivery or service
- Consideration and tax amount as a single total
- Applicable tax rate or note on tax exemption
Invoice abroad
For services to other EU countries (B2B), the note “VAT liability of the recipient of the service” and the respective VAT ID of both parties must be stated (reverse charge procedure).
These invoice types can be created easily with easybill by integrating the appropriate templates and notes.
Incorrect invoices must be corrected or cancelled in good time:
- Not yet sent or paid: You can simply create the invoice again.
- Already sent, but not paid: Create an invoice correction with adjusted data.
- Already paid and posted: Create a cancellation invoice and then a new, correct invoice.
With easybill, you can generate and archive cancellation invoices automatically and in compliance with GoBD.
